The European Tourism Forums bring together leading representatives from the tourism industry, civil society, European Institutions, national and regional authorities dealing with tourism, and international organisations to discuss the challenges of the sector.


Every year the Forum focuses on specific themes of interest, such as quality, sustainability and competition.

CHARTS at European Tourism Forum 2014

According to the work plan, Project Coordinator and Management Unit and partner European Cultural Tourism Network participated in the annual European Tourism Forum that focused on the synergies between culture and tourism for growth and employment with simultaneous panels and open discussions on Digitalization and Innovation in Tourism; Sustainable Mobility and Access to Destinations; Training and Education in Tourism and Actions to promote Europe as Tourist Destination.


The main players/lobbies in the Tourism presented their opinion and a role in the EC Agenda during special session dedicated to the synergies between Culture and Tourism for jobs and growth, such as: CLIA Europe Director of Government Affairs, Ryanair, OECD, the Section for the Internal Market, Production and Consumption, European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), UNESCO World Heritage Centre and Office in Venice of the Council of Europe.


Event was held by the Italian Presidency of the Council of the European Union and was co-organised by the European Commission. Event brought together high level decision makers at ministerial and international level. Throughout the two days event CHARTS promoted its results with synergies to the agenda of EU.
